River Day enjoys fine weather
The annual Calder Future River Day took place over the weekend of 12th-13th June, with fine dry weather. There were a total of seven events, ranging from a beck clean-up with the street wardens and local young children in Wellholme Park in Brighouse to a river sweep carried out by Eastwood residents at the other end of the valley. On the Sunday the Halifax Sub-Aqua Club worked with local people from Elland to clear rubbish from the River Calder next to the Riverside Park - this site, in view of Elland Bridge, is one of the best in the Borough for enjoying the waterside environment.
